Hello, natural eyebrow tattoos

Artful precision and fine technique come together at Beauty Tattooist. Our studio is located in Vancouver, BC. We've developed a process to get to know your face, your style, and your personality so we can create dream brows that look and feel like you—naturally.

Our style? Look natural and feel great.

We combine our popular manual microblade tool and a new nano machine technique to create soft hair-like strokes on the skin that mimic the look of real eyebrows. The result is so natural-looking, you’ll forget it’s just art.

In case you’re wondering, we use plenty of numbing cream so you can relax. Yep, natural-looking eyebrows can feel this comfortable.

Our Process

01
When you come in for your first session, we’ll get comfortable right away. We’ll get to know you and what you’re looking for. Do you want fluffy looking eyebrows or just want to fill in sparse areas? It's okay if you don't know yet because we’ll work together to create natural harmony for your face. We'll go over shape and colour and make sure we’re on the same page before the hair stroke tattooing part starts.

02
You’re in good hands: we use premium numbing cream to make sure your experience is as comfortable as possible. Your session will fly by and soon you'll have a new set of natural brows!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your comfort is our number one priority. We use high-quality numbing cream before and during the microblading nano process to make sure you're as comfortable as possible. Everyone has a different pain tolerance, and some people are more sensitive than others. Some say microblading feels like tiny scratches, and a buzzing sensation for nano machine, but many have said it's painless. That being said, some clients have fallen asleep during the process because they were so comfortable!

  • You can expect your eyebrows to last anywhere from 1-3 years, however that will vary from person-to-person based on your body chemistry and how well you take care of them. Sun exposure and smoking can shorten the lifespan of your eyebrow tattoos. (Tip: If you want your eyebrows to last longer, apply sunscreen on your brows.)

To make sure your eyebrows last as long as possible, follow the detailed aftercare instructions we’ll provide on how to maintain your eyebrow tattoos.

  • Your healed eyebrows are unique to you because each person has a different skin type, body chemistry, and lifestyle. In general, if you have oily skin, your eyebrow strokes will come out a bit softer, and if you have normal or dry skin, your strokes may appear slightly sharper. In either case, the results will look natural.

  • It's very normal for our natural eyebrows to be uneven. Many clients come in with some unevenness. We use several techniques (such as the Golden Ratio) to help you create balance and harmony so your dream eyebrows appear even.

  • Yes, yes, and YES. I've worked as a Certified Dental Assistant for two years (learn more about me here) and learned the proper steps to keep your experience clean, tidy, and safe.

At Beauty Tattooist, we properly sanitize, disinfect, and sterilize all tools and working areas to reduce the risk of blood borne pathogens, keeping your safety and comfort in mind at every step of our appointment together. When you come in, a new individually packaged needle will be opened in front of you so you know what we’re using is one-time use only. After each appointment, all sundries (gauze, cotton swabs etc.) will be disposed of and any equipment used will be properly sanitized and sterilized using medical grade solutions. All medical waste items such as sharps (blades) will be disposed of properly into a sharps container.

We hope to bring a sense of calm to your day while we craft your amazing eyebrows! You’re in good hands.

  • The initial microblading session is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. This includes the consultation, measuring and crafting your dream eyebrows, and plenty of fun together.

The first complimentary touch-up session (highly recommended) will go by even faster because we already have your eyebrow shape from the initial session.

  • You’ll be getting thorough aftercare instructions to take home, but it’s pretty simple.

    • No water, sweat, or anything on the eyebrows except the ointment you’ll be receiving. (You’ll develop creative skills on how to keep your brows dry while showering or washing your face. We can’t wait to hear all about your ninja skills.)

    • Keep the brows away from the sun during the healing stage, approximately 10 days.

    • Do not scratch or peel your eyebrows—give them time to heal properly. (It’s tempting, we know.)

  • The first few days after you get your brows done are going to be new to you. It's normal for them to feel a little tender, and they'll probably be a bit swollen and darker than usual. This is absolutely normal—just think of a minor papercut you might get on your hand.

But, you can still go out and socialize with friends during this time. They may not even notice that you got your brows done.

Your eyebrows will begin to flake gently around the fifth day. The colour underneath will be a lot lighter than the initial state post-session. Simply allow your brows to naturally flake off and avoid picking the area. After the dark colour flakes off, apply sunscreen when you go outside to protect them. Colour will come back in a few weeks as your skin continues to heal.

By week six, your brows should be completely healed! This is when you’ll come back for your complimentary touch-up appointment to complete your eyebrows, if needed.

  • Most people are good with the first session.

If you want more to your brows, you can add-on an extra session booked for 6-8 weeks after your first one.

Everyone’s eyebrows will fade at different rates, but if you love your new brows and want to maintain them, come back about once a year for a refresher touch up.

  • Nope! Your eyebrows do not need to be removed during this procedure. You get to keep your original actual eyebrows; we’ll just be adding to them. But if you want, we’ll remove any stray hairs.

  • Feel free to come in with your brows filled in so we can see how you usually do it. If you like a certain eyebrow shape, please bring in photo references.

    Eyebrow tattoo prep tips:

    • Skip your morning coffee or anything with caffeine.

    • Do not consume alcohol before or on the day of your session.

    • Avoid taking any blood thinners (aspirin, vitamin E, ibuprofen and fish oil supplements) for 72 hours before coming in.

    • If you’ve used Accutane, you'll have to be off that for 6 months before coming in.

    • Avoid sun-tanning 2 weeks before and after your procedure.

Bonus tip: Wash your hair right before your session because it’ll be a little challenging to do so after—you’ll need to keep your brows away from water during the healing process.

  • No. We like to keep the energy in the studio focused on you and your brows, no distractions. We’d love to meet your friends for their own eyebrow appointments, whenever they’re ready.
